Videos are one of the best ways to kill your time when you are getting bored or travelling to work or school in buses, train etc. If you own an iPhone then viewing videos is an absolutely delightful experience. However, the phone does not support all kinds of video formats including avi while majority of the videos are available in the .avi format. But this in no way implies that one cannot view those videos. One just need to change them in the required format and then can import avi to iTunes.
There are a lot of convertors available like total video convertor, Aimer soft convertor etc. that can make your job easy. You can upload your avi files in these software select the desired output format and then click convert. It will change the video in to a number of formats but if you do not want to change the format then also there is a method to do so. All you need is QuickTime Media Player that works in conjunction with the iTunes app as well as support avi files.
- To begin with, you need to have the Quick time player installed on your system. If you do not have it, you can download it from here Apple: QuickTime Download.
- Once you have installed it properly navigate to the avi file that you wish to import to iTunes. Right click on the video file and select the open with option. In the context menu pick the Quick time player. The player will take some time to open the file.
- Once the file opens in QuickTime player, navigate to the share tab. It will present you with a number of options. Pick the iTunes option. A window will open saying Save Your Movie to iTunes that asks to select the Apple devices on which you want the file to be viewable. The available options include iPhone, iPad, apple TV and computer. Pick up the desired devices and then click on the share button. Once you do so, the player will start saving the file to the iTunes application. The complete process may take some time to end so that the file is visible in the iTunes application.
- After the process completes, open the iTunes application and navigate to the library. In the movies tab you will find the shared avi files there.
