Microsoft announced that its forthcoming tablet will go on sale on coming February 9th with a starting price of $899. This tablet is actually a full- fledged laptop, will be available across US and Canada on various stores including Staples, Future Shop, Best Buy and of course Microsoft’s stores and online.
The hardware piece of Surface Pro is just same as Surface RT, but the main difference between the two being their operating system i.e. the Surface RT runs Windows RT and the Surface Pro runs on Windows 8.
Officially Surface Pro known as Surface Windows 8 Pro, packs an Intel Core i5 processor, just around half the battery life of the Surface RT, with Intel’s latest HD 4000 graphics and coupled with 4GB RAM, 64GB of storage. Additionally, the display is a 10.6 inch 16:9 panel capable of a 1920 X 1080 resolutions and 10- point multi touch, with micro SDXC, mini Display port, cover port, ambient light sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope and support for Bluetooth 4.0 and 802.11 a/b/g/n.
In general we can say Surface Pro is just same as Surface RT from the front side and if someone didn’t look too closely then probably would not be able to detail which type of Surface it was. So the advantages and difficulties would be the same, whereas Surface RT can be thought as a tablet first device that can function as a laptop, and Surface Pro is an almost laptop that also makes fine for a tablet.
The Surface Pro could be fit for you if you liked the Surface RT and wanted a little bit more power and flexibility. And if you don’t like Windows 8, the Surface Pro will do nothing for you.
Well if you want to buy this Surface outside US and Canada, you need to wait for while as Microsoft’s says 13 other markets will be getting the Surface Pro soon, but still those locations has not confirmed yet.
